ABOUT US​​

Majama Wines is the creative collaboration between partners Millie Shorter & Rojer Rathod. Rojer is from Gujarat, India and is an emerging wine maker in the Hunter Valley wine region. Millie is an Australian creative specialising in textile & graphic design.

Majama means "happy", "enjoyment" or "fun" in Gujarati. We aim to express the simplicity of the fruit into the bottle with a minimal intervention approach to winemaking. We chose to focus our attention to lesser known, hot climate varietals, in particular those indigenous to Sicily. 

 

We use only small parcels of hand harvested fruit and hand bottle our wines using minimal sulphites in the fermentation process. Our wines are unfiltered and unfined. This ensures maximum flavour with minimal interventions.

All our wines are made on Wonnarua Country, in the Hunter Valley region of NSW. We acknowledge the traditional owners of the unceded land where we live and work and pay respect to their Elders past & present.
